Using iTunes with my previous iPhone I was able to back up to the PC as default. With the iPhone 14, every time I log into iTunes, I have to re-check the box to back up to computer. Can't figure out why. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Check your iCloud settings on the phone in case that has backup to iCloud selected. FWIW I'd recommend iCloud backup plus manual backups to iTunes. Gives you options if/when the computer backup won't restore.
