Which system version are you using?

In the most recent system versions you can hide the Hidden album from the View menu:

View > Hide Hidden album

If you upgraded to macOS 13 Ventura , the Hidden album will be locked and require a password or another ID to unlock it.

Thank you for your answer. I upgraded to MacOS 13 Ventura. I still have the following issues:

1) After I use my login PW or touch ID, I can see the photo hidden album. I don't see how you then hide it again.

View just shows a greyed out "Show Hidden Album". I don't see anywhere how to hide it after showing it.

2) The password is the same as my main password to open the Mac. Can I have a special PW just for Photos?

After you have locked the hidden album again, as shown by OT, you can hide it again from the View menu. The option to hide the Hidden album is missing, while the Hidden album is unlocked.

Have you enabled the option to lock the hidden album at the bottom of the Photos > Settings > General tab?

Thanks!

I guess I was hoping that there was something on Mac Photos like exists on the iPhone & iPad where you go to settings and disable the hidden album, so it doesn't appear at all unless you go back to settings and enable it.
