hp seemed to have stopped support for it back with macOS Sierra 10.12


it does not seem to support air print

I have an iPad air and an HP laser jet printer P2055dn. the printer is connected to the router. how can I set up the (justanswer.com)

Hi,


You could perhaps try the HP 5.1.1 Printer Software Update package download from Apple instead (despite the system requirements limitation). Look upon this as an experiment. It may not open/install/work. Something like the HP LaserJet P2055 or HP LaserJet P2055 with Duplexer version 19.13 driver listed in the referenced article Printer and scanner drivers for Mac - Apple Support ought to be of interest.


If necessary, reset the printing system (link below) between tests.


Make sure that you have backup copies of all important files before testing anything. Software conflicts can never be ruled out.


If a USB connection does not work, try connecting the printer by Ethernet to one of the LAN ports of a Wi-Fi router, or vice versa.
