When it was purchased, I set it up with my icloud email address (mom@icloud) as the AppleID and assigned the user as an adult. The kid has been using the ipad with this AppleID (doesn't know the password). What I would like to do is to switch the AppleID on this iPad to one that I created for my kid (kid@icloud), that is specifically assigned to a child. However, I do not want to lose her app progress or her apps. Is there any way to do this??? Let me know if clarification is needed. TLDR; need to change an appleID on an iPad but keep apps and app progress.....

Try using Screen Time to limit where they can sign out of an Apple ID so they can sign into a different Apple ID.
