Siri not working while a song is playing

Ok so I use Spotify to listen to music and sometimes it’d be nice to skip a song hands free except. “Hey siri” doesn’t work when a song is playing, I have tried a few things such as attempting to turn off “hey Spotify” which doesn’t exist anymore, turning off “listen for hey siri” “press side button for Siri” “allow Siri when locked” restarting and turning them all back on, and a few more things I can’t remember, I’ve tried a lot. nothing. works..

While it is a strange thing for both 'Hey Siri' and pressing/holding the side button and Siri doesn't activate, we'd like to help rule out some possible causes:

Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart: Restart your iPhone
If you're using a compatible iPhone model, the latest version is iOS 16.0.3. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. Here's a link that'll show how to first back up, then Update your iPhone or iPad.
We also recommend making sure that all apps are up to date: How to manually update apps on your Apple device
Does the issue only occur while you play music from the Spotify app, and not music from other apps?
