G'day good people of this forum,
Every time I use my Mac I get this below message. Sometimes every 5 minutes, sometimes not for over an hour. Does anyone have any ideas what the issue is and how to remedy it?

N.B my Mac OS is fully up to date.

The message is not indicating a Shutdown, but a Logout message.
Do you have any Hot Corners enabled which may be configured to Logout?
Or did you accidentally press the special key combination to perform a Logout? If you click the Apple menu you can see the special key combination next to the Logout option.

Create a new macOS user account, log out of your current user and log into the new user account. Do you have the same issue or is it only happening with the main user account?
Change Users & Groups settings on Mac - Apple Support
Check in System Preferences->ScreenTime and make sure it is not enabled or if you desire that function, change it to something more to you liking.

I did not have any Hot Corners configured for lock screen. Also, I am not accidentally hitting the combo for log out. The issue is when I leave my Mac for a few minutes and return its either about to log out or already done so. Thanks!
