icon in dock with down arrow and harddrive
An icon popped up in my dock with an arrow pointing down with a hard drive. Have never seen it before. Says its "updating" when I try to close it. Making sure it is legit. thanks

Check Force Quit:
See if any applications are open that are not responding. If that is the case, save what need be (if possible), and then Force Quit it.
- Go To: Apple Menu
- Select: Force Quit...
- Select: An Item Ending in: “Not Responding”
- Click: Force Quit button
