After using it for a few years, they stopped using it, and the device was switched off for almost two years. A couple of days ago, they migrated to another country, and my uncle gifted the phone to me before leaving. What if this phone was given to me and they forgot their Apple ID and password ? This phone was given to me as a gift and it was already a used phone when they got it. So they don’t know the previous owner’s anymore to get the previous Apple ID and password from them . But this was all done willingly from person to person as gifts. So I need to see, how can I activate the phone from here ?

If you can't reach the previous owner whose ID is on the device and have them go to https://www.icloud.com/find/, erase the device, then remove it from their account, then the device is useless. Apple won't unlock it.
