Did you Ever get this Fixed?

Troubleshooting a Slow iPhone and iOS Update:

I had it at first. So, I cleared space, and it one nice a fast. So, do the same. See the following...

Clearing Space:

Caches are used for remembrance of application use. Internal storage cannot be upgraded. It is what it is. So, try clearing internal storage though use of the following...

What Space to Clear:

A. Clear Temporary Internet Files:

Clear your Temporary Internet Files(Cookies & Cache) of Safari:

Also...

B. Clean TV and Music Libraries:

Remove all unneeded files from your TV and Music Libraries. Full-Movies take up 2-4GB typically, and a bunch of those would take up a load of storage, ideally. So, if you have any movies that are not needed, then delete them.

Also..

C. Clear "Other":

Clear the storages named "Other". It basically contains unnecessary files such as caches that are used for system ease of use - all of which gather over time: How to Clear "Other" in your iPhone's Storage - Use Backup - User Tips. Caches would be being used for remembrance of application use.

Troubleshooting iPhone WiFi:

If cleaning space doesn't do the fix for you, then troubleshoot the WiFi. As for your neighbor's WiFi, they may be broadcasting no more, coincidentally. So, ask them to restart their router. I'd say keep off their network, if you are not permitted to use it without their knowledge.

Hi jeffrey52,

We'd like to share some helpful guidance for the issues you have over Wi-Fi. If you have the latest iOS version, the best starting point will be the troubleshooting steps in If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't connect to a Wi-Fi network - Apple Support which lead through 7 steps. In combination with this, you can make sure to have the Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points - Apple Support. We hope this leads to a solution.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

I have the same problem. When I wake my iPhone, every single app has to pause for about 15-20 seconds. Sometimes, the app complains that there's no internet connection. If I disconnect/reconnect to the wifi, all is good until I put my phone down again. VERY maddening. And yes, I've checked all of the items on Apple's "good wifi" setup list. I'm a computer tech and actually know what I'm doing.

Apple can say that it's not an issue, but I never had these problems until iOS 16 got installed. I'm telling all of my clients to hold off on the iOS 16 update. Quite a few are elderly and, quoting the one client who updated anyway, they won't "monkey around with that blessed thing all day while it decides whether it wants to work or not!" So, it's not just me that's having these wifi issues.

Oh, and connecting to a 5Ghz network is impossible. I have a couple of shops that insist on using 5Ghz ONLY and I cannot connect to any of their networks. I've reset the network settings and even wiped/restored my iPhone. No go.

Not a helpful answer. It's not the phone that's slow, it's problems with Wifi connections. I have 48Gb free on my phone. Even did a factory reset/restore (as I mentioned in my earlier post). This is SPECIFICALLY wifi. Another thing that I didn't mentioned before, I only see my local Wi-Fi. I don't see my neighbors Wi-Fi, like I used to for the last 8 to 10 years that I've had iPhones and before iOS 16 was installed.

Again, you're getting the wrong end of the stick, mate and providing unhelpful suggestions. I'm not on my neighbour's WiFi. When I go into "wireless networks", I should see 8-10 WiFi networks; these are all of my neighbours available around me. All I see is my single WiFi, NO OTHERS! Now, you can argue that they ALL turned off their routers at the same time, but I'd bet the farm that they didn't. Especially since both of my older iPads and my Windows 10 machines still see all of them.

And, as I already mentioned, I've already reset the network settings (several times) and even FULLY wiped and restored my iPhone. It's not a problem with my phone, it's not all of my neighbours killing their WiFi at the SAME exact time. Also, if I set my router up to 5Ghz ONLY, my iOS 16 iPhone cannot connect, but all of my other devices can. It's iOS 16, plain and simple.
