Airplay connection to Beoplay speaker not working

Hi all,

I am running a Macbook Pro late 2011 on macOS Sierra and since some time cannot connect anymore to my B&O Beoplay speakers via the sound system menu (Airplay connection from iTunes of the same computer works perfectly fine, though). This connection used to work before, I used it to cast the sound of videos on the same speakers. I rebooted everything including the router, contacted B&O support, who told me to contact Apple support, who were fairly clueless. I suspect the issue is with Sierra since connection works fine from a more recent Mac, but again it used to work with Sierra.

Does anyone have a suggestion?

Many thanks in advance.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, bluetooth connection works. However it is not suitable for watching videos due to a lag between sound and image. Airplay does the sync right, or at least did when it was still working. I should say that I see the speaker in the system audio menu (even with bluetooth off), however I get the message "Cannot connect to Beoplay" when I select it.
