Macbook charging with USB-C not magsafe

My 2021 MBP M1Max is connected to an Apple Studio Display with USB-C and a 140w Apple power supply with Magsafe cable - the MBP is prioritizing the USB-C over the Magsafe and honestly the battery never gets to 100% and the magesafe connector light is perpetually orange <grin!>. Is there a way to prioritize the MagSafe over teh USB-C without disconnecting the monitor?

Beginning with macOS 10.15, macOS is now using Battery Health Management which will exercise the battery. This means sometimes the battery will charge to 80% and hold there for a while. This is normal behavior regardless of whether USB-C or Magsafe charging is used.
