The Files app can store documents and images On iPhone or On iPad. Does the iCloud Backup feature include the on-device documents?

I understand that Files saved in iCloud will be available to all my other devices logged into the same Apple ID. But what about on-device files. On a new iPhone or iPad if I restore from iCloud to new device, then the documents in Files - on-device will not be included. Right?

An iCloud backup will include locally stored files and data that are not already synchronised with iCloud - unless you have explicitly disabled a specific App’s data from the backup.

You can verify which of your Apps data is included in your iCloud backup from your device settings:

Settings > [Your Name / AppleID] > iCloud > Manage Storage > Backups > [this device]

Scroll down through the list of Apps; all those that are enabled within the list will have data included within the iCloud backup
