Stop automatic insertion of decimal point

How do you make excel stop automatically inserting a decimal point?

When I add 12356 it appears in the cell as 123.56

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

Format a Numbers sum cell? I cannot get Numbers to format a cell the way I want. The cell is the sum of the two cells immediately above. The two cells that I am adding each has two decimal places. But the sum cell has three decimal places. I am in Inspector > Cell > Data Format. In that format command I have set the sum cell to two decimal places. Change in Decimal Places creates a really Long Number? Hi, I was wondering why does the cell D23 suddenly end up with lots more numbers after the decimal place when I change one of it's input cells from 2 to 3 decimal places? The D23 Formula is: "+/- " & ABS(D7×D9×SQRT(DUR2DAYS(D15)÷365)) Cheers.

This forum is for apples numbers spreadsheet. Not excel.

however this is usually an effect of custom formatting, set the format of the cell/column to general and see if that fixes it.
