Stop automatic insertion of decimal point

How do you make excel stop automatically inserting a decimal point?

When I add 12356 it appears in the cell as 123.56

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

This forum is for apples numbers spreadsheet. Not excel.

however this is usually an effect of custom formatting, set the format of the cell/column to general and see if that fixes it.
