icons for apps

The icons for new apps are not appearing on my IPhone 12. I can return to the app store and open the downloaded apps , but no icons. Help please.

"Open" when you go to the App Store indicates that the app is already somewhere on your device.

Have you checked the App Library? Go to the App Library (swipe left past your last home screen). From there you can touch and hold an app and slide it left back to the home screen.

Also note the Search window at the top of the App Library.

If that is what is happening, for the future downloads, go to Settings > Home Screen and change Newly Downloaded Apps from "Apple Library Only" to "Add to Home Screen."
