I keep having multiple invitations added to my iPhone calendar titled "New Event". I do not remember clicking on an invitation from an unfamiliar source as I rarely use this calendar. It will not let me respond but I can click and hold and hit cut and it draws a line through the invitation on the calendar. I don't know how to make it stop. Any advise?

Settings > Calendar > Accounts > Subscribed Calendars and tap the calendars you did not subscribe to and delete it.
They are gone if you do not see them and followed the instructions in the link provided earlier.
Nobody has gained access to your iPhone. You were probably scammed / tricked into clicking on a prompt while visiting a website and it added those calendar events.
