Is it easy to change the email account that is used as Apple ID without losing photos contacts shared purchases current subscriptions. The email I used for my ID was my wife’s email account but I thought I was just creating an ID not using an actual address and so things get a little confusing with such things as using a hidden email which then sends the email to my wife’s account. So is it easy to change.

Thanks will do as directed and hopefully all will remain but only my email address will have changed.

Changing your Apple ID email as describe in that support article does not affect any of your data or purchases; it only changes the Apple ID.
I have received email and it appears it has been changed. Do I now sign out of my old Apple ID account to sign into the new one. With the new email address?
