apple watch stuck in theater mode

my apple watch is stuck in theater mode. I can't swipe up or down, I can swipe side to side. The watch will not restart by holding the crown button, nor will it force restart by holding the side button and the crown. model M00M3LL/A SYSTEM 8.7 (19466) any ideas?

watch screen unresponsive to touch Apple Watch SE intermittently unresponsive to touch. Apple watch swipe up/down not working Every couple of days my watch stops working swipe up/down. It works swipe right/left. If I reboot the watch it starts to work again. But I would like to have a permanent fix. thanks

As I said in my post, The watch will not soft or hard restart. I have held the buttons for a minute trying to do both. Thanks
