Microphone is working but setup siri cannot hear

Lets first be sure you're updated to the latest version of iOS to make sure that's not related to what you're experiencing. If you're up-to-date, restart your iPhone then give the following steps a try to see the results. The restart will help to clear up any unexpected occurrences, and these steps will help with training Siri to recognize your voice. Set up Siri to recognize your voice

1. Go to Settings.

2. Tap Siri & Search.

3. Turn off Listen for "Hey Siri," then turn it back on.

4. When the Set Up "Hey Siri" screen appears, tap Continue.

5. Say each command that you see on your screen.

6. Tap Done.

Ive done all of that but it’s like the microphone isn’t working. We’ve checked that the mic is working on the other apps, it does with them, just not with Siri. Siri is working just fine on iPad with same AppleID. So, we cannot set up Hey Siri to use with the iPhone.
