the move command not appeared in menu

i can't move a file from a certain folder to another one as the move command not appears , so i have to make a copy then delete the original one

is there any solution ?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.6

Select the file, press command+C, click in the folder you want to move the file to, press option+command+V

If you depend on Finder menus to move a file, select the file and then right-click on it to present the secondary Finder menu and choose the copy menu item. In the destination folder, right-click again and press the option key. This will change the Paste menu item to Move Item here on the secondary menu.


The approach offered by dialabrain is more efficient unless you are more comfortable with menus.
