How do I confirm a purchase with Face ID and assistive touch?

Go to Settings->Accessibility->Touch->Assistive Touch, and make sure its turned on. Scroll all the way to the bottom of hat same page and make sure Confirm with Assistive Touch is turned on too.
Then when making a purchase tap on the Assistive Touch onscreen home button, and then on the Apple Pay icon.
