Since updating to iOS 16 on my iPhone 13 mini iBooks will not display any text on pages in new chapters in books that I am reading. The only way of forcing iBooks to display text on the new pages is to open Themes and Settings, select a new theme, reselect the old theme and close the pop-up menu.

Anyone else seen this type of behaviour, and have any ideas how to stop it happening?

See if a force restart helps: Force restart iPhone – Apple Support (AU)
If not try offloading the app and downloading it again (apps and data will not be deleted).
Delete the books and download them again.
A quick update.
So far I have followed the advice given by picas - force restart, offload the app an d reload it, delete and reload the affected books (all of the books I have read since updating to iOS 16).
None of this has helped. I still have to go through the rigmarole of selecting a different theme and them reloading my original theme to make iBooks display text when I start a new chapter in a book.
Anyone else affected?

Been there, done that, all except offloading and downloading the app. I'll try that later and see if that helps.
