"you don't have permission to save..."//Logic Pro X

Recently purchased a Mac mini (M1, 2020; 12.5.1) and have been getting it set up for work (I'm a musician).

Finally got everything downloaded and activated, connected my external hard drive, opened a Logic Pro X session, dragged an audio file from a different external, and the following error message came up:

"You don't have permission to save the file "_____" in the folder "_____". To view or change permissions, select the item in the Finder and choose File > Get Info."

So I did that and did not see any permissions for both externals that would prevent me from accessing the hard drives or saving to them. I don't see any limitation there.

I also saved files to both externals as tests with zero problem. The only issue seems to be saving a Logic Pro X session, which is what I primarily use this computer (and external hard drive) for.

Any help is appreciated!
