remove anybody from the contact list who's number was blocked - "delete" a blocked number - how?

in the settings, all you can do is "unblock" somebody on the blocked contact list. There is no "delete" or "trash" or "bye bye" option. I have hundreds of these in a list and don't want to do them one by one, first "unblocking" and THEN deleting. I'm getting unsolicited calls and msgs every day and like to reduce my clutter. Same with WhatsApp. They are like zombies.

Greetings wolfg112,

If we’ve understood correctly, you’re looking to unblock a blocked number. You can do that in Settings > Phone > Blocked Contacts, by tapping Edit at the top right and then minus sign next to each number you wish to unblock. Additionally, a number doesn’t have to be in a contact card to block them. However, if they are then you would have to delete the contact card separately from unblocking the number.

It may be easier to delete contact cards from the iCloud website, if you sync your contacts with iCloud. There you can delete more than one at a time. Delete contacts on iCloud.com

1. In Contacts on iCloud.com, click the All Contacts group in the sidebar, then select one or more contacts you want to delete.
2. Press the Delete key, then click Delete.

Thanks.
