My phone is locked and every time I enter the password it says it is not correct even though it is.

How the freak it is possible that I enter my password correctly, but the iphone does not take it and now it has been locked 1, 5 and 15 minutes. I am afraid to try again and get it locked for longer. Is there an another way to unlock the iphone
