I am trying to eliminate my iCloud account that I had before I upgraded to Apple One. Will I lose my storage if I proceed?

I am trying to downgrade or eliminate my iCloud+ storage now that I have I have upgraded to Apple One with iCloud + included. Is the best to just move to the free option? Will it impact my storage levels?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.13
