Multiple keys on my Magic Keyboard perform more than one function

I have an iPad and a magic keyboard and seemingly out of the blue my keyboard has started adding secondary keystrokes for almost all keys that are not just letter keys.

iPad 2, iOS 9

Check your accessibility settings to make sure that Full Keyboard Access is turned OFF.
