Why would the weather app Dark Sky be removed 1/1/23 in favor of the Weather app?

Dark Sky provides hourly forecasting for the week that I use all the time to make plans. Not only precipitation, but also for temp and humidity. Dark sky has a 4.7 rating while I believe the Weather app offered only has a rating of 2.9. Weather forecasting benefits just aren’t available in the suggested replacement app.
