Airpods Pro 2 battery does not disappear from battery widget

Hey ladies and gents, I just got my first ever Airpods and so glad I waited for the Pro2! My question, my airpods battery (earbuds and case) stay on the battery widget even though its in the case (case lid closed) and is not connected to my iphone. I still see it on the widget list with the charging icon. Is that normal? I still use my iPhone X. Ios firmware up to date. Hope you guys can help

Hi Aldo4Ever,

Congratulations on your AirPods. To help troubleshoot your AirPods showing that they're charging on the Battery widget, test the behavior after deleting and re-adding the widget to your iPhone.

Check out those steps here:

How to add and edit widgets on your iPhone - Apple Support

"How to remove widgets

  1. Touch and hold the widget that you want to remove.
  2. Tap Remove Widget.
  3. Tap Remove again to confirm."

If the issue persists, test after resetting your AirPods to further troubleshoot: How to reset your AirPods and AirPods Pro - Apple Support

"You might need to reset your AirPods if they won't charge, or to fix a different issue.

  1. Put your AirPods in their charging case, and close the lid.
  2. Wait 30 seconds.
  3. Open the lid of your charging case.
  4. With your AirPods in your ears and connected to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings > Bluetooth, or Settings > [your AirPods], and tap the More Info button  next to your AirPods. If you don't see your AirPods in Settings > Bluetooth or in Settings > [your AirPods], just go to the next step.
  5. Tap Forget This Device, and tap again to confirm.
  6. With the lid open, press and hold the setup button on the back of the case for about 15 seconds, until the status light on the front of the case flashes amber, then white.*
  7. Reconnect your AirPods: With your AirPods in their charging case and the lid open, place your AirPods close to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Follow the steps on your device's screen."

Let us know if that helps.

Kind regards.
