Wallet keeps opening when I flip my phone around

I’ve been traveling for a couple years now, and this is driving me nuts. I have all my train and bus passes on my phone as QR codes, but most of the time, when I bring up the code and then flip my phone around to show a conductor/ code reader, my IPhone X just brings up wallet. It’s been annoying at times, when it doesn’t read and I have to close wallet and bring up the QR code again, but it’s also been disastrous, when I meant to show a train ticket to a card reader. But instead of wallet opened and PAYED FOR A FULL NEW TICKET. This seriously needs an explanation. I’ve looked through all my shortcuts and accessibility and nothing seems to be causing this. Anyone know what I’m talking about?

While this does sound like possible unexpected behavior for which you'll need to reach out to Apple Support, we'd like to rule out some basics first:

For your model, the latest version is iOS 16.0.2. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. Here's a link that'll show how to first back up, then Update your iPhone or iPad.
Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart: Restart your iPhone
If you're using a different app other than Wallet to show your passes, we recommend making sure all apps are up to date. This link shows How to manually update apps on your Apple device.
