How do I uninstall an app?

Normally an app can be dragged into the Trash and then empty the Trash. A better way is to visit the apps web site and if an uninstaller app is available, then download and open it. That way all of the apps bits and pieces which are scattered throughout the computer will also be removed. Keep in mind that many of Apple's installed apps cannot be removed, though. They are write protected.
