Ring tone blasting my ears while making calls on AirPods Pro on iPhone 14 since iOS16 update

When I make calls, the ring tone (i.e., the tone that we all hear when making a call that tells us that the phone is ringing on the other end) is extremely loud. I turn down my volume to adjust, but then when the call connects, I can barely hear anyone and need to turn the volume back up. Plus it's killing my ears.

Anybody else experiencing this? Any way to fix this?

Hey Jellopants,

We understand the dial tone on your iPhone is much louder than expected when making calls with AirPods Pro on iPhone 14. We'd be happy to help out.

To clarify, does this happen when making phone calls everywhere or just in certain locations? Also, do you have Wi-Fi calling enabled when this occurs? To check, go to Settings > Phone > Wi-Fi Calling.

For more info on Wi-Fi calling, please review: Make a call with Wi-Fi Calling - Apple Support

Take care!
