battery % shows higher after charging up and then turning off and on

Hi,

I recently got the 14 Pro and noticed for the last two days that I have charged the phone to around 90% I’ve taken it off charge and switched off to save battery and then once I’ve switched the phone on I’ve realised the battery percentage has increased.

Is anyone experiencing the same issue?

iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 16

Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities, poonam279!

We understand you're seeing higher battery percentage after powering off and powering back on your new iPhone 14 Pro. We'd be happy to provide information about this.

Battery percentage is approximate, so it is not unexpected to see different numbers appearing after restarting.

Keep in mind, however, it is not necessary to power off your iPhone to maintain battery health. If you're trying to preserve battery, you can charge your iPhone to 100%, then set it to Low Power mode to disable any background app activity.

More information about Low Power mode can be found here:

Have a great day!
