Phone won’t work

Try a force restart. Press and very quickly release the volume up button, press and very quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the side button for about twenty seconds. When the Apple logo appears, release the button. The timing is a little tricky, so try it a few times!

Does the keyboard appear? Does the rest of the screen still respond to taps?

Like I asked, does the rest of the screen still respond to taps? When you try to type, is there any indication that you touched it? Does the other part of the screen still work?
