Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

That will work if you follow the instructions exactly, as it is the equivalent of turning off a computer, then turning it back on. If it truly doesn’t work your hardware has failed. the key word is QUICKLY, and doing the steps in sequence, not all at the same time.

It's been charging for over an hour, nothing.
The tech support was not helpful. I will charge overnight and if it still won't start I'll send it back. Thanks for your assistance. Have a lovey rest of your weekend.
It must be hardware failure, I've tried everything, followed the instructions exactly, watched videos on how its done, nothing. Its dead. Sending it back to apple.
