Guided Access

How do I trouble shoot guided access. When I start guided access it doesn’t allow me to make the whole screen gray. When I triple click the lock button to adjust, or end guided access, the movie movies to the far right bottom, and i’m only allowed to adjust the grayed out area on one side of the screen.

iOS Guided Access fails when resumed (with workaround) I'm using an iPhone XS Max running iOS 16.5.1 Beware of an issue with the "Guided Access" accessibility feature. It seems to work properly when it is first set up (a user defined mask disables a portion of the screen for a particular app). However, if you end Guided Access without deleting the mask and then subsequently resume Guided Access, the feature no longer works even though the configured mask is still displayed (transparent grey overlay). The work-around is to delete the mask each time before ending the feature and then re-creating when next required. BTW, you may also want to consider turning off the "Motion" slider available as a Guided Access option.

Guided Access not working I'm not able to use Guided Access on an iPad pro 12.9. 15.6.1 is the OS. I've tried the common fixes - turning on and off Guided Access, restarting the iPad. The "Guided Access" item on the Accessibility Shortcut menu is checked, but also grayed out. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Can't disable the Guided Access On iPad Pro, iOS 17 - there are still cases where I'm not able to disable the Guided Access. As well on iOS 16 users report the same issue. Faced this issue once today on my iPad Pro 4th gen (MY3E2LL/A), iOS 17.5.1 today. Wasn't able to reproduce the issue on stable basis however. But that's a really issue for businesses, that face the same issue on clients devices, while not being able to disable the Accessibility Mode via MDM. The devices are just become irresponsive - and nothing besides hard reset helps. Tried to install the build from previous commit - from Xcode while Accessibility Mode is active - but wasn't able to reproduce the issue on stable basis. On my on-purpose attempts - still tripple click stayed active. So faced the issue only once today. And no reaction from Apple developers for years. I, personally, feel shame about that - not being able to help the clients and their businesses that rely on iOS devices. As well another issue on iOS 16. Related to Swipe to Do a Screenshot. Like on iOS 15 after you make a screenshot while Accessibility Mode - for 5 seconds the UI is non-responsive at all, and in 5 seconds the screenshot is hiding - and it's possible to continue using the device. But in iOS 16 - it's possible to do a screenshot by swipe from corner - when enabled. And the device is non-responsive at all, the screenshot is not getting dismissed at all. In iOS 17 - that was fixed - the swipe from corner to make screenshot is getting deactivated in Accessibility Mode. But in general - I feel shame for Apple QA team as well - that that thing is not tested - and clients that still use iOS 16 suffer from that issue, and are forced to force-restart the devices.

Troubleshooting Guided Access:

A. Can't Use a Button for Guided Access:

Go Here: If a Button or Switch isn't Working on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

B. Forgetting the Guided Access Password:

You need to change the passcode, with 2FA enabled

Use a passcode with your iPhone
Force shutdown the iPhone
Restart the iPhone
Go to: Settings
Tap: Accessibility
Tap: Guided Access
Change the passcode
