Missing Albums and Replaced Songs?

Can anyone please answer or explain the following:

Why are some of my uploaded (not downloaded from Apple Music/iTunes) randomly deleted from my library, and how do I prevent this from ever happening again?
Why do some songs in my library randomly get replaced by the edited version? I have had this happen with a single song and not the entire album.
What is the difference between Apple Music and iTunes?

I sincerely appreciate any help because I am getting more and more frustrated.

Hi Rmandree,

We understand you have some questions about your music. We're happy to share some information and try to help.

Regarding songs being deleted unexpectedly, check in Settings > Music > Optimize Storage to see if that is enabled. Have this enabled will automatically remove music from the phone you haven't played in awhile to try and save space.
When it comes to your explicit versions of songs, let's make sure there are no content restrictions causing this behavior. Check out how to make changes to that here: Set or change parental controls in Apple Music on the web - Apple Support
Apple Music is the streaming service that comes with a paid subscription. It gives you access a huge library of songs that you can listen to and download for offline play. As long as you have an active subscription, you'll have access to your library. iTunes has been used to help manage music libraries, and offered the ability to purchase songs or albums without a monthly paid subscription.
