How do i go back to a previous version of macOS?

I just updated to Monterey 12.6, and a SW I need is not working anymore

Can I go back to the previous version of Monterey?

What software stopped working? It is highly unlikely software that ran on a previous version of Monterey would fail.

It is possible to downgrade but it's a fair amount of work.
