Apple Music Media Folder???

What is the Music Media Folder and what is its purpose? I am new to Apple Music, trying to learn more about it.

Also, what kind of file is "Music Library" located in the folder and why is there another one in a previous library? What happens if I open either of them? - see attached

Hi,

If you have a problem with the latest music library, you would need to delete it then move previous library and rename to “Music Library “. Now open music app - your library will be as it was prior to update.

The media folder contains the music files that have been added to your library and are physically on your computer. The music library file is the database of your music and playlist- it does not contain any media files.

When you update the music app, a new version is created and the old one is move to previous library folder. You don’t use this old version unless there has been a problem with the update. It can be deleted if everything is fine in the new Music library file.
