Monterey update affecting Bluetooth

I just updated my iMac to Monterey 12.6 and my Bluetooth stopped working completely. I cannot toggle the switch on. I have tried to reset the bluetooth module from the terminal and from the finder folder but nothing has worked. Any other solution?

Troubleshooting Mac Bluetooth Connectivity:


A. Boot in Safe Mode:

In Safe ModeLogin Items do not run at login, certain preferences are set aside, and damaged system files are then reset. So, once booted in to Safe Mode, wait 30 seconds, and then boot up normally, attempting another connection. For instructions, go here: How to Use safe Mode on your Mac - Apple Support


B. Go Here: Connect a Bluetooth Device with your Mac - Apple Support


C. Bluetooth: If a Bluetooth headset doesn’t work with Mac - Apple Support


D. Use the MacBook Pro's builtin Bluetooth adapter (Not a USB Bluetooth Dongle), You would only need to connect it once with the MacBook Pro. When you no longer need to use it, just delete it from the list of devices.

I had the same issue. Affected my Apple Mouse (and possibly other devices - didn't check).


Rebooted a few times, charged the mouse, switched it on and off. Nada.


Tried booting in Safe Mode, then rebooting. Nada.


I was inches away from reinstalling Mac, but decided to delete the mouse from the list of bluetooth devices, and searched for it again. Connected anew. Cured the issue.
