USB recording LP to GarageBand on iMac

Do I need a USB to lightning adapter to record to GarageBand on a 2019 iMac? The AT-LP20 USB turntable has a standard USB connector that isn't working on my iMac. Gotta bunch of LP's to transfer to MP3.

recording audio on an M2 mac mini I used Audacity on my old 210 Intel chip Mac Mini which worked perfectly for ripping tracks from vinyl or CD. My new M2 Mini doesn't work with Audacity. What is the next best program for the M2 Mac?

USB Audio Codec not available in macOS 15.4.1 I upgraded to Sequoia 15.4.1 yesterday, and no the USB Audio Codec option for Input in Audacity is no longer available. I've restarted my Mac, uninstalled and re-installed Audacity, triple checked all my settings and I can't get the option to appear. I collect a lot of vinyl and have been digitizing them for years with the exact same set up.... hooked up exactly the same way. The only thing that has changed is my OS version. You might need USB-C, not thunderbolt. Try this one from Apple

Also, does that turntable need drivers?

A USB-A to USB-C should be fine.

Well, I got a USBc to "USB Adapter 3 Thunderbolt" from Amazon & still don't get a signal. It's an older Audio Technica AT -LP2D, not an LP 20. I'm stumped, should be easy right?
