Airplay Disney plus iOS16

We understand that you are unable to AirPlay Disney Plus after updating your iOS. Are you able to AirPlay other apps without issue? If so, follow the steps below and article below to correct the issue with Disney Plus.

1. Close and reopen the app
2. Restart your device
3. Check for updates
4. Delete the app, then redownload it

If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open

If those steps do not resolve the issue, try contacting Apple directly.

I have the same issue with Disney Plus and with trying to mirror Netflix. We have tried the proposed solution but it doesn’t work. Like the other reports, it seems related to ios16. Everything worked fine with mirroring until I updated my iOS to iOS 16

The Same here. My wife and i updated to iOS16 and now we cant stream Disney + or RTL+ via iPhone to Apple tv3…. Absolutly mess and not really nice from Apple. With an Update i suggested to get NO downgrade! or Should this be the New sales marketing by Apple, we have to buy New Apple tv?!

please take note of This bug and delete it asap.

Same issue as everyone else. Disney +, prime & Netflix. Started with reporting to Apple and Disney and case still open.

no problem mirroring my phone and can airplay YouTube app to ATV G3 no problems. Also 3 other iPhones in the hose on ios15 have no issues. It’s worth all reporting this to Apple & Disney as when I spoke to them they suggested that apps were comparable and are not aware of any problems. Maybe they should read this board???

I have same issue and tried all the steps above. Funny thing is, the airplay functionality works with Youtube and other except with my DSTV and showmax app on both phones. his started happening ever since updating to iOS16.

Airplay from an iPhone to an Apple TV usually just instructs the Apple TV to stream the content from the internet itself. It could be that your Apple TV needs to be updated to tvOS 16, or the Disney+ app on it needs to be updated.

I think similar problems were reported with Disney+, Netflix, and other streaming services when iOS 15 was released. They usually released updated apps to fix these problems.

Same issue here, not only with Disney+ but also with HBO, LesMills and more… it’s definitely a good reason NOT to upgrade to ios16 until this gets fixed.

I’m finding issues on Apple with every upgrade recently, which has never been the case before… it’s an unpleasant surprise.

even with mirroring, everything works, but becomes a problem when I want to mirror the DSTV and showmax app.

After 16.0.3. the issue continues with my iPhone 13 Pro - no Airplay with Disney+ / Amazon Prime/ not even AppleTV ! :–) Where is Apple - SW quality gong to ???

I hope Apple will fix this issue before also iPadOS is being upgraded to version 16. I now only can stream from my iPad, not my iPhone with iOS 16

disney plus is definitely not mirriring on apple tv 3! I hope they fix this!

After updating my iPhone to iOS 16.1 AirPlay works fine again, no more issues for me.

Surprisingly, Apple haven’t included this amongst the issues fixed mentioned on the release notes.
