my watch won't swipe up

I am trying to access the screen where I can use the water function to use my watch while swimming but for some reason I can't swipe up from the Home Screen. I have never had this problem before. Can anyone offer insight?

Is there another way to launch control center other than swiping? I’m unable to swipe up or down on my watch when at the watch face screen and am unable to launch the control center. The ability to swipe up/down works in other aspects. I suspect the issue is related to enabling the water feature and forgetting to turn the dial to disable it. I actually used the water feature to lock the watch from accidental swipes as it basically locks the screen. I didn’t actually go in water.

why does my apple watch not go to the depth app in water automatically? so when I put the watch in water the depth app doesn’t open automatically like it says it should I have it on for automatic in settings how do I change this? Is this a glitch or something?
