15.7 to 16?

How do I update from iPadOS 15.7 to iPadOS 16? The update page does not give the option. It just says “your device is up to date.” How do I get 16?

Unlike iOS16 for iPhone, released yesterday, iPadOS16 is not due for release until sometime in October.

However, iPadOS 15.7 was also released yesterday - incorporating essential security updates.

While iOS16 is available for iPhone, iPhone owners have the option to just install iOS15.7 at this time.

iPad OS 16 has not been released.

Apple states that it will be released in October.

Support told me to do it in iTunes, but it wasn’t an option in iTunes, either. “Your iPad is up to date>’ Boo.

As outlined, iOS16 is only for iPhone - not iPad. Attempting to update using iTunes will make no difference to availability of a compatible update for iPad.
