Screen mirroring macbook to ipad as separate display freezing frequently

When using screen mirroring / iPad as separate display, the iPad side of things will frequently freeze with the cursor stuck on the ipad, with no other solution than to disconnect and reconnect. The iPad itself isn't frozen, I can access iPad apps etc. Just the screen mirroring freezes.

Any solutions or ideas as to cause would be appreciated :)

MBA M2, 2020 ipad pro, both fully up to date.

Hi Andrew Levine,

Have you noticed this issue on multiple Wi-Fi networks or locations? Or specifically when trying to open a particular app or start a particular workflow?

Additionally, if you restart both devices, does the problem persist?
