Screen Mirroring freezes from MacBook Pro to iPad Pro

I have a newer MacBook Pro (13-inch, M1, 2020 with current update of Monterey 12.5.1) and an iPad Pro (12.9-inch, 5th generation with current update of 15.6.1). I often use the iPad as a second screen while at school but recently, the screen mirroring freezes. I am still able to use the iPad normally and the only way I have found to correct the issue is disconnecting and then reconnecting the screen share. That solution is really only a bandaid as it lasts for just a few minutes before freezing again. Is there a fix for this issue?

Thank you in advance!

Hi AmaDragon,

We're happy to see if we can help with this. So, you mentioned you're using it in a certain location when this happens, correct? Just curious to see if this is the only location that the issue happens in, as that may indicate an issue with the Wi-Fi network, or devices nearby that may be causing interference. Also, if either device locks or sleeps while using AirPlay to screen mirror, that can cause an issue as well. We've included a link to a list of devices that can cause interference for you below.

If the issue is happening in other locations, or on other Wi-Fi connections as well, we recommend reaching out to Apple Support directly for additional troubleshooting.
