Verify billing info not working

iTunes keeps asking me to verify my billing info when I attempt to purchase music but when I click "Billing info" the popup goes away and nothing else happens. No new window to verify info. Nothing.

I've changed my password and AppleID. Updated all of my account info and payment method online... THREE TIMES. Signed out and back into itunes at least six times. Restarted the machine. Everything I can think of just short of the nuclear option, uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes.

Any other suggestions?

Thank you.

In start post -> I've changed my password and AppleID.

In your response -> then signed out and back into iTunes several times with the new AppleID.

Do you changed or do you make a new Apple ID?

Your Apple ID is the personal account you use with all Apple products and services. It includes the email address and password you use to sign in, as well as the contact, payment, and security details that you use with Apple.

👉 You can’t merge multiple Apple ID accounts.

New Apple ID -> you need to verify your payment information:

Sign in to your Apple ID account page and edit / update your Apple ID details.

https://appleid.apple.com

On the Sidebar click Payment methods -> then tap Payments Methods and tap Manage payment method.

If you're still unable to update your payment method, Contact Apple Support.

Thank you for your extensive feed back, it is appreciated 👍

Then, for some reason, she had me go to the AppleTV website and sign-in there. I've never been to that site before nor have I ever had an interest in AppleTV but I was able to sign-in to my account there. It looked different but my iTunes account information was there. She had me delete my credit card info, sign-out, sign back in and re-enter the credit card. Then we went back to the iTunes app on my PC, signed-in and attempted to purchase the same song again.

That's a big puzzle.

What I do notice here (also no Apple TV, never watch TV), is that my Home Videos are categorized under Apple TV (?).

I found out after I get a warning that my PC is running out of hard disk space. The cause is too much GB used by Apple TV.

Then transferred my Home Videos to an external hard drive, restart the PC and then transfer the Home Videos back.

And no more warning and Apple TV usage is zero GB 🙏

It worked. Problem solved.

Good to hear it was finally resolved.

Hello Raicya. Thank you for your reply.

The article that you referenced is not related to my symptom of the "verify billing info" prompt not working. Although the article exclusively applies to iOS, I have already done everything that it suggests on my PC. The only Apple service that I use is iTunes for my iPods. As I mentioned, the online store is where I updated my information, then signed out and back into iTunes several times with the new AppleID. The changes were reflected in my iTunes account info screen. Everything there is correct, yet iTunes keeps prompting me to verify my billing info but then doesn't allow me to do that.

So, I went to the link and after at least 40 minutes of chat messages with two different support team members, my case was escalated to a phone call.  There, I was on the phone with a new team member for over 90 minutes. Big props to her for being thorough because we went through and literally did everything I did yesterday with one exception.  Today, we did all of that and then tried installing iTunes on my laptop and behold... the exact same problem.  Either my account profile is jacked up on the Apple side of things, or... Microsoft kicked out a bad update that "accidentally" hosed my Windows 8 machine in such a way that now I have to upgrade to their latest monstrosity.

Anyway, they were not able to fix the problem and I have another session scheduled for this weekend.

Well, here it is. This is why I will never own a Mac or iPhone. Apple makes everything more difficult due to poor design and then tries to pass it off as a security feature. Just trying to complete the phone call was a fiasco. My original appointment was canceled somehow so I had to reschedule... twice.

After multiple attempts to connect with the representative via phone, we tried a couple other options with iTunes. No luck. It worked. Problem solved.

Why my iTunes account would be connected to an AppleTV profile that I never created, why that connection wouldn't be perfectly synced or that one could affect the other is beyond reason, but that's Apple for you. So desperate to be cutting edge that they forget the basics of simply making sure that their product is functional and reliable. They'll never accept that pretty isn't practical and sacrificing dependability just to make it unique is what keeps Microsoft and Android customers loyal.

Anyway, five-stars to Apple support for effort. That's one thing I can say for Apple, they have the best tech support hands-down. They certainly need it.

Now, I have to figure out how to unlock my wife's account since Apple is not accepting the answers to her security questions and not allowing her to reset them. Apple support is already telling us that this being the case, they can't help and we're screwed. The account, purchased content and any money on it is lost.
