ownership transfer from USA to Vietnam

I bought a new MacBook Air directly from Apple.com, and I want to send it to my niece in Vietnam as a gift. Do I need to transfer the ownership from my name to her name? The Macbook is totally brand-new, unopened.

I just want to know how my niece can get the warranty benefits of the laptop in Vietnam. What do I need to do?

Thank you.

The regular one year warranty is valid worldwide, so that is fine. If you intend to buy Applecare, be advised that Apple has changed the terms recently and it may not be valid in a country other than the one it was purchased in. As long as you do not set up the device, you do not need to do anything - she can register and set it up with her Apple ID.
