Stupid question.
The application's icon in the dock, bottom right of the screen, shows recently opened apps over the Applications icon
How do you clear it so that it just shows the Applications icon?

I have been after that flippin version (the folder) of it for ages, but never thought to right-click the icon.
I used to have the folder option showing on my last operating system, but thought they had changed it to just the icon.

With the specific application launched, visit its File > Open Recent submenu and choose Ckear Menu.
Ctrl-Click on Dock icon. Change it to display as Folder.
