OS 12.5.1 sleep issue

After I installed OS 12.5.1 on my iMacs, they no longer sleep, nor do my screen savers work. This is happening to both my 2015 iMac and 2020 iMac. I restored the defaults in the Energy saver preferences to no avail.

Is there anyone that has had this problem?

Any suggestions?

As for restarts give this a try: boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and test to see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

Thanks for all of your replies. I did put the 2020 iMac into safe mode and the problem persisted.

Having spoken with two different support advisors it seemed the best answer was to reinstall the OS 12.5.1.

That still did not fix the issue until I fully erased my hard drive and reinstalled the 12.5.1 OS and the rest of my software. I chose not to recover anything from time machine.

It seems to be working as it should however it's only been a few hours since it's been up and running. I will update further if still have more issues.

Lastly, this issue happened to my 2015 iMac, and I have not addressed that one yet.
