My iTunes is not opening for reason it is being updated. I am unable to uninstall iTunes so as to reinstall it. I get a message "You do not have permission " although this is a home computer and does not have an Administrator. How do I uninstall iTunes?

As suggested by you I downloaded iTunes and successfully installed it today without uninstalling the existing one. I could thereafter open it and play some music without any hassle. The music library was also seen to be intact. Thank you for your advice and support.
